The Los Angeles County Fire Department continues to make good progress on a brush fire burning near Val Verde, just east of the LA/Ventura County line near Highway 126. As of 9:37PM, forward progress of the fire has been stopped and the fire is currently estimated at 256 acres with 50% containment. Crews will remain on scene overnight working to build additional containment line and extinguish remaining hotspots.
